Green Cross ramps up manufacturing amid high demand due to COVID-19

Green Cross, Inc. said Wednesday it continues to ramp up the production of its alcohol, soap and bleach products amid surge in consumer and hospital demand due to the spread of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

Green Cross is the maker of the popular Green Cross alcohol and Zonrox bleach products.

“Our production lines are now practically running around the clock and we are working longer hours to increase output and meet the unprecedented demand, particularly for alcohol,” Green Cross president Michael Co said in a statement.

“We urge consumers to do their part in ensuring the availability of alcohol by not hoarding, and by limiting purchases to two bottles as recommended by the DTI,” Co said.

The Green Cross chief also called for sobriety amidst the current medical emergency and urged the public to cooperate with authorities for the good of the country.

He also reminded the public to practice regular hand-washing.

Green Cross said that it would see to it that more products will be delivered to hospitals, health centers and store counters in the coming days, and appealed to the various government authorities to ensure the passage of their employees, supply trucks, and delivery trucks so that this can happen. 

“We are all working hard to make sure that the supplies needed to combat the spread of the virus are readily and sufficiently available for all, especially for our tireless health workers and other front-liners,” Co said, adding that Green Cross will also continue to donate alcohol to government hospitals and health centers for their use.

Green Cross has also been making arrangements to ensure the health and safety of its employees by providing them with transportation, staff accommodations, and alcohol pumping stations, and frequent sanitation of its production lines.
