PhilPost suspends operations in light of Luzon-wide enhanced community quarantine

The Philippine Postal Corporation (PhilPost) on Tuesday announced that its operations will be suspended in light of the enforcement of enhanced community quarantine in Luzon.

“…Para sa kaligtasan ng lahat gayundin ng mga empleyado ng PHLPost, ang operasyon ng tanggapan ng Korporasyong Pangkoreo ng Pilipinas (PHLPost) ay pansamantala munang suspendido simula ngayong araw hanggang ika-12 ng Abril, 2020,” it said on its Facebook page.

The Luzon-wide suspension was also due to the worsening cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) according to PhilPost.

On Tuesday, the Department of Health said that there is now a sustained community transmission of COVID-19 in the Philippines.

The country has 142 confirmed cases of COVID-19 as of Monday night, and 12 deaths from the illness. — Joviland Rita/RSJ, GMA News
