Ludy’s Salabat now undergoing registration process, says distributor

The product registration of Ludy’s Salabat has expired and its manufacturer is now processing the renewal with the relevant government agency.

The registration is now being renewed with the Food and Drug Administration, said Myrna Carsolim, Compliance and Regulatory officer of Rodzon Marketing Corporation, the distributor of Ludy’s Salabat.

“The processing of the FDA registration for the said product is under obligation of Reon Food Manufacturing, the toll manufacturer of “Ludy's Salabat” for Rodzon Marketing Corporation," Carsolim told GMA News Online.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on Tuesday warned consumers against purchasing five food products without Certificates of Product Registration.

In Advisory No. 2019-448, the FDA said the Ginger Punch Lemon variant of Ludy’s Salabat is an unauthorized product in the absence of a Certificate of Product Registration.

The manufacturer of Ludy’s Food Products on Wednesday said their items regularly undergo laboratory testing.

Ludy’s Salabat is manufactured by Reon Food under a toll processing agreement.

Reon Food has assured Rodzon Marketing that they “have consistently submitted the product for regular laboratory testing to ensure the safety of the consumers,” Carsolim noted.

“Please be assured that we will focus on the resolution of this matter with Reon Food Manufacturing and that we commit to ensuring the safety of the consumer,” she added. —VDS, GMA News
