FDA orders Lazada, Shopee to stop selling medicines online

The Food and Drug Administration has ordered on online sellers Lazada and Shopee to stop selling medicines online until they have secured the necessary license to do so.

The FDA issued a cease and desist order from further selling and offering for sale medicines under pain of contempt or other administrative sanctions.

"The continuous online selling of any of these drug products will place the lives of the general public in danger and at risk," an FDA statement read.

"The FDA warns the public to exercise extreme caution and to avoid purchasing/consuming health products offered for sale online," it added. —NB, GMA News
