Gasoline prices up for 4th straight week


Pump prices of gasoline will be hiked for the fourth consecutive week on Tuesday, accompanied by higher prices of diesel and kerosene.

In separate advisories, Chevron Philippines Inc. (Caltex), Petron Corp., Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corp. and SEAOIL Philippines Inc. said they will hike prices per liter of gasoline by P0.75, diesel by P0.80, and kerosene by P0.90.

Jetti Petroleum Inc., Petro Gazz, PTT Petroleum Philippines Inc. and TOTAL (Philippines) Inc. will implement similar adjustments, excluding kerosene.

The changes will take effect 6 a.m. on Tuesday, April 30, except for Caltex, which will implement the changes 12:01 a.m. the same day. Other firms have yet to announce adjustments for the week.

According to the latest data available from the Department of Energy (DOE), gasoline prices in the country currently range from P52.50 to P58.61 per liter, kerosene from P45.49 to P55.70 per liter, and diesel from P41.94 to P49.70 per liter.  —Jon Viktor D. Cabuenas/KBK/BM, GMA News
