DMCI’s Victor Consunji dies at 68


DMCI Holdings director and Semirara Mining and Power Corp. (SMPC) president and chief operating officer Victor Almeda Consunji passed away.

“It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dear and beloved Mr. Victor Almeda Consunji on December 27, 2018. He was 68 years of age,” SMPC said in a regulatory filing submitted by vice president for legal and corporate secretary John Sadullo on Friday.

“Under Mr. Consunji’s leadership he was able to turn around the coal mining operations allowing the corporation to reach new heights paving the way for SMPC to become the only integrated power company in the country,” the company said.

At the time of his death, Consunji was the vice chairman of the board of directors, president and chief operating officer of SMPC.

He was likewise president and chief operating officer of SEM-Calaca Power Corp. and Southwest Luzon Power Generation Corp.

Consunji was also a director of DMCI Holdings Inc.

“The board of directors, management and employees of the DMCI group of companies deeply mourn his passing,” DMCI Holdings said in a separate disclosure. —Ted Cordero/VDS, GMA News
