NAIA runway closed for stretches in November for maintenance work

Several flights at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) next week will be affected by a temporary runway closure scheduled between 12 a.m. and 6 a.m. from November 12 to 17 and from November 20 to 22. 

According to a report on GMA News TV's "Balita Pilipinas Ngayon" on Wednesday, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) and Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) are set to conduct maintenance work on the given dates.

In line with the closure, an advisory from Cebu Pacific said the following  flights on these dates have been cancelled:

International

  • 5J 409/410: Manila-Bandar Seri Begawan-Manila
  • 5J 288: Manila-Guangzhou
  • 5J 289: Guangzhou-Manila
  • 5J 114/115: Manila-Hong Kong-Manila
  • 5J 733: Manila-Kota Kinabalu
  • 5J 734: Kota Kinabalu-Manila
  • 5J 362/363: Manila-Macau-Manila
  • 5J 257/258: Manila-Siem Reap-Manila
  • 5J 753/754: Manila-Saigon-Manila
  • 5J 268/269: Manila-Xiamen-Manila

Domestic

  • 5J 377/378: Manila-Cagayan de Oro-Manila
  • 5J 395/396: Manila-Cagayan de Oro-Manila
  • 5J 557/556: Manila-Cebu-Manila
  • 5J 579: Manila-Cebu
  • 5J 582:Cebu-Manila
  • 5J 589: Manila-Cebu

Cebu Pacific has advised affected passengers to either re-book their flights for travel within 30 days from the original departure date or get a refund.

Authorities also advised the public that Bacolod-Silay Airport will also be closed on Friday from 8 a.m. to 12 noon. —Margaret Claire Layug/NB, GMA News
