A "Chairman's Treat" for all to celebrate this fast food's milestone

Being chairman of several large corporations in various industries,  Dr. George T. Yang has always had a head for business. Of those, however, he is most known for bringing in McDonald’s to the Philippines, transforming the American brand to cater to the Filipino palate.

Becoming a household name started almost 37 years ago, when Dr. George T. Yang opened the first ever McDonald’s store in Morayta, Manila in 1981. Five years into his franchise, he started to add familiar food to the local menu, meals that Filipinos love. Noticing how his family always looked for spaghetti on special occasions, Yang introduced the McSpaghetti to McDo customers, one that has a sweeter and distinct Pinoy taste. Then, in 1993, the McDonald’s master franchise holder put a Filipino twist to the classic hamburger through the Burger McDo. Both food items are unique to McDonald’s branches in the Philippines and paved the way for McDonald’s Philippines to successfully introduce menu items that are not on the standard global menu.

From 2pm to 4pm on September 27, 2018, you can buy one McSpaghetti McSaver Meal and get a free Burger McDo!
