REGARDLESS HOW MUCH

Globe prepaid load now carry 1 yr. expiration

All Globe Telecom prepaid load, including denominations below P300 will now carry a one year expiration period, the company said on Thursday.

Globe and other carriers started implementing the one year expiration period for prepaid load worth P300 and above on January 6, the telco said in a statement.

Now all prepaid load no matter how much is left will expire only after one year, a Globe official told GMA News Online.

“‘Yun and hinihiling ng consumers ‘di ba? This erases the perception na nananakawan sila ng load—‘yun pala nag-expire na,” Ma. Yolanda Crisanto, head of Corporate Communications, said.

“Effective July 5, 2018, all Globe prepaid load, including those with denominations below P300, will carry a one year expiration period,” Globe said in its statement.

Now, Globe has fully complied with Memorandum Circular (MC) No. 05-12-2017 issued jointly by the National Telecommunications Commission, Department of Information and Communications Technology, and Department of Trade and Industry, extending the validity of all prepaid load to one year, the telco said.

“A longer load expiry period will benefit our prepaid customers and eliminate perceptions of vanishing load—nakaw load,” Crisanto said.

It will have an impact on Globe, but the company is not telling how and in what form.

“Insofar as business impact is concerned, we believe that customer satisfaction and consumer welfare far outweighs business impact at this time. Hence, we have given our full support—and compliance—to this initiative,” Crisanto said. —VDS, GMA News
