PHL schools that produced the most fresh grad hires in 2017


The Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) remained the top source of fresh graduate hires last year, data from the latest Fresh Graduates 2018 Report of JobStreeet Philippines revealed.

In a briefing in Makati City, JobStreet Philippines country manager Philip Gioca said PUP was the top source of fresh graduate hires in 2017.

“This year, when asked if they have reasons for sourcing employees from particular institutions, employers pointed out that they believe in the schools’ reputation of producing quality graduates and eventual employees,” JobStreet said.

Gioca noted Employers revealed that most of their fresh graduate hires came from PUP, and cited the following reasons: highest number of job applicants from the school, the school’s reputation, and the positive attitude and work ethic of employees from the school.



The University of the Philippines (UP) produced the second-highest number of fresh graduate hires.

Among the reasons for this include the school’s reputation of producing quality graduates and eventually employees, the “outstanding” profiles and performance in tests and interviews, and the work ethic of employees.

Rounding out the top three is the Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU), with the school’s reputation, work ethic of employees, and companies’ preference for the school.

The top three schools were followed by the University of Santo Tomas (UST), Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM), Far Eastern University (FEU), and De La Salle University (DLSU).

Completing the top ten are Technological Institute of the Philippines (TIP), University of San Carlos, University of Cebu, and University of the East (UE). —VDS, GMA News
