eTelecare workforce to increase to 14,000 with 7th office


Nasdaq-listed business process outsourcing firm eTelecare Global Solutions Inc. will be opening its seventh office in the Philippines in May next year, which will boost the company's total workforce to 14,000. The office, which will be situated along Buendia in Makati, will be able to accommodate 2,500 employees. It will provide customer care, sales, technical support to US-based clients. Hernandez also announced that the company has completed its $7.2-million acquisition of the AOL Member Services-Philippines Inc. “We said that we are expecting to close down the agreement by the end of September and, indeed, we closed down the deal on September 28," he said. The company said it is expecting the acquisition to be accretive to earnings beginning this year. Earlier, Alfredo Ayala, eTelecare chairman, said the acquisition of AOL’s subsidiary will pave the way for the company to handle the email and chat services for AOL. The subsidiary has a workforce of some 1,000. eTelecare's other facilities are located in Libis, Quezon City, Makati City, Alabang and Cebu. - Cheryl Arcibal, GMANews.TV
