BDO investigating new reports of unauthorized withdrawals

BDO Unibank Inc. on Tuesday said it is looking into new reports of supposedly unauthorized transactions involving several accounts.

"We're investigating the matter now. We'll revert back to you once findings have been made," the bank's Corporate Communications Department said in a text message.

Several netizens are claiming their respective account records showed unauthorized withdrawals, with a June 27 date stamp.

On June 16, BDO received reports of potentially compromised automated teller machines (ATMs) from cardholders who claimed there were unauthorized withdrawals from their accounts.

In a Senate Hearing last week, BDO officials said seven ATMs were compromised by skimmers.

The bank has since promised to reimburse the amounts skimmed from client's accounts. — VDS/KVD, GMA News
