Only Kim Wong allows Senate to access phone records

Out of all the concerned parties who agreed to open their phone history to the public, Senate blue ribbon committee chair Senator Teofisto Guingona III on Thursday said that only casino junket operator Kam Sin “Kim” Wong submitted a waiver allowing access to his records.

To recall, all central players – Wong, former Rizal Commercial Banking Corp. (RCBC) Jupiter branch Maia Santos-Deguito, remittance firm PhilRem Service Corp. President Salud “Sheba” Bautista and Treasurer Michael “Concon” Bautista – agreed to sign waivers to allow the Senate access to their phone history from February 5 to 13

The said dates were supposedly when the $81 million stolen funds from the account of the Bangladesh Bank with the Federal Reserve Bank in New York was transferred into several accounts in RCBC.

The money was then consolidated into the William Go account and then transferred into casinos by PhilRem.

“Yung tatlong parties, si Kim Wong, si Maia at tsaka si PhilRem, nagsabi na they will issue a waiver for their phone records. Si Kim Wong lang nagbigay – levels of credibility di ba,” Guingona told reporters on the sidelines of the Senate hearing.

“They said they would (sign waivers) eh tapos hindi pala ibibigay. Mabigat ‘yun kasi once binigay mo ‘yan, pwede nating tignan (‘yung buong history),” he added. — RSJ, GMA News
