Ford Philippines says first-half sales an all-time high


Ford Philippines on Tuesday said sales during the first half reached an all-time high, citing double-digit growth practically across all model.
 
The affiliate of US carmaker Ford Motor Co. sold 10,427 vehicles across all nameplates, an 18 percent increase from the same period in 2014, according to a company statement.
 
In June alone, Ford Philippines saw its sales increase by 10 percent to a record 1,870 units as a result of the  demand for the EcoSport, Ranger and Explorer even as the company is now in the transition pace towards the Everest.
 
Sales generated by the pickup Ranger rose 26 percent to 755 units last month, while the EcoSport and Explorer increased by 59 percent to 767 units and 24 percent to 110 units. 

 
Ford Philippines Managing Director Kay Hart noted the global vehicles Ranger and EcoSport continue to be a success with an even wider range of wider range of customers.
 
The company booked record sales for the second consecutive year in 2014, selling 53 percent more vehicles or 20,341 units.
 
“Our ongoing dealership expansion is helping us better serve our growing base of customer across the country," Hart said.
 
Ford Philippines will open outlets in Sta. Mesa and Ormoc this month, bringing the brand to 38 locations across the country. The company targets to have 40 dealerships this year. –Keith Richard Mariano/VS, GMA News
