GSIS brings processing system kiosks to SM malls

Members and pensioners of the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) will soon be able to access and update their records and apply for loans at an SM Supermall near them.

GSIS president and General Manager Robert Vergara signed on Friday an agreement with SM Supermalls’ president Annie Garcia to deploy the GSIS Wireless Automated Processing System (GWAPS) kiosks at SM Supermall’s Government Services Center at SM Manila, SM Cebu, SM Pampanga, SM North EDSA, and SM Mall of Asia.

"By bringing the most popular GSIS service facility to the nation’s favorite hangout, the malls, we are providing our nearly 1.9 million members and pensioners the easiest and most convenient way to access GSIS services," Vergara said.

The GWAPS kiosks allow members and pensioners to apply online for various GSIS loan windows such as the conso-loan, policy loan, emergency loan, and pension. They may also view their GSIS records and as activate their eCards.

At present, nearly a thousand kiosks are deployed nationwide.

Before GSIS, public offices such as Philhealth, Social Security System, Home Development Mutual Fund (Pag-IBIG Fund), Philippine Postal Corporation, National Statistics Office, and Philippine Regulatory Commission also have satellite operations in SM malls.
