Cebu Pacific on Thursday said it flew 13.26 million passengers last year, up 11 percent from 11.93 million in 2011, helped an expanded domestic and international operations.

The airline launched direct flights from Manila to Hanoi, Siem Reap, and Xiamen, as well as from Cebu to Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur, and pioneered direct flights from Iloilo to Hong Kong and Singapore.

The expansion, coupled with seat sales and tourism promotions, led to passenger growth in international markets. Passengers in flights to Malaysia increased by 21 percent, to Taiwan by 22, to China by 29 percent, to Vietnam 30 percent,  and to Brunei by 32 percent.
