Globe Telecom to offer insurance to post-paid subscribers
Globe Telecom Inc. has partnered with global insurance provider Ace Insurance for an insurance program that will cover post-paid subscribers' mobile phones and devices, the company announced Wednesday. All new and re-contracting post-paid subscribers buying new devices under Globe My Super Plan will get the new service, Globe Gadget Care, for free on the first month of subscription. They can then choose to continue the coverage against accidental damage, theft or robbery for P89 per month. Post-paid subscribers who did not buy new devices or those without Globe-issued handsets may still take out insurance against accidental damage for P199 a month. Globe also reports that its subscriber base has grown over 20 percent as of end-September 2012, with post-paid business increasing nearly 25 percent year-on-year to P5.8 billion. Its post-paid customers now total 1.66 million, a 22-percent year-on-year rise. — BM, GMA News
