R'Bonney Gabriel tries out Siargao's local produce: 'Island fruits just hit different'

Just like Bretman Rock, R'Bonney Gabriel is one of the Filipino-American celebrities who effortlessly promotes Philippine tourism.

For Miss Universe 2023's recent travel within the country, she opted to visit the Surfing Capital of the Philippines, Siargao, and shared her experiences so far on Instagram.

R'Bonney tried Siargao's local fruits, including durian, dragon fruit, papaya, mangosteen, pineapple, and lanzones.

"Island fruits just hit different," she said.

R'Bonney also shared her morning adventure in Siargao, where she walked her way to a private island with the help of a stick and a beach crawl that she called "salamander crawl."

"[I] was once voted most likely to survive stranded on an island," she said.

Earlier, R'Bonney witnessed the iconic and picturesque Palm Tree Road in Siargao, which made her say, "[I] think I found my new favorite island."

R'Bonney has been in the Philippines since April.

The first Filipino-American Miss Universe has been exploring her Filipino heritage, from eating Pinoy street food, practicing her "tawad" game in Divisoria, riding a jeepney, visiting her dad Remigio's childhood home in Malate, Manila, and trying her hand at cooking sinigang.
