Lee O’Brian posts sweet birthday message for daughter Malia, but Pokwang says ‘Di naman nagpaka-ama, sa socmed lang!’
Lee O’Brian took to Instagram to share his birthday message for his daughter, Malia.
Sharing photos of the little girl and a few clips of themselves together, Lee addressed the message to “sweet Malia my love.”
“Wishing you the very best in life and so many more blessings and happiness. I love you so much!” he said.
The American actor said six years ago was the best moment of his life and that he has been so proud of Malia every moment since she was born.
“Enjoy your day to the fullest because you deserve the absolute best!! Love you, sweetheart!! And Nana, Grandpa and Tita love you too!!” he said.
Lee also used the hashtags #MyBlessing and #DaddysGirl.
But some netizens seemed to disapprove of Lee's greeting, including his ex-partner and Malia’s mom, Pokwang.
Replying to a netizen who assured Lee that there will come a time when it will be Malia herself who will approach him, Pokwang said, “Oo para sumbatan sya dahil di naman nagpaka ama sa socmed lang tse!”
Pokwang and Lee broke up in 2021, with the comedian defending Lee against third-party rumors.
In a 2022 "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda" interview however, Pokwang said she had to lie to maybe still save their relationship.
The actress had said it was her who kicked Lee out of their home, adding that he has moved on to someone new.
In June last year, Pokwang filed a deportation case against Lee, which she won in December.
