Palawan ranks 4th in Tripadvisor's most trending destinations for 2024

Palawan has made it to Tripadvisor's annual Traveler’s Choice Award Best of the Best!

The island ranks fourth in the travel platform's most trending destinations of 2024, just behind Tokyo, Japan; Seoul, South Korea; and Halong Bay in Vietnam.

The website described Palawan as "a slice of heaven, a sliver of an island that teems with exotic wildlife, quaint fishing villages, and UNESCO World Heritage Sites."

It also mentioned the Calauit Game Preserve and Wildlife Sanctuary, the Japanese shipwrecks of Coron Island, "regarded as one of the best dive sites in the world," and the Puerto Princesa Underground River as a must-visit destination on the island.

Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco said that this latest accolade from Tripadvisor is "a testament to the island's timeless allure."

Known for its pristine, crystal clear waters, lush tropical landscapes, and idyllic white-sand beaches, Palawan has long been celebrated for its responsible and sustainable tourism practices while preserving its natural heritage and biodiversity.

In 2012, the Puerto Princesa Underground River, one of Palawan's tourist destination, was included in the New 7 Wonders of Nature alongside the Amazon Rainforest in South America.

The island was also named the "Most Desirable Island" for 2022 by a London-based travel magazine.
