Gabbi Garcia and Khalil Ramos get a ‘When Harry Met Sally’ moment in New York
Gabbi Garcia and Khalil Ramos just dined at Katz’s Delicatessen, New York City’s oldest deli and their experience was made even more special because the Kapuso couple scored the table that was used in the iconic improv scene in the iconic '80s romcom movie “When Harry Met Sally.”
The scene focused on the two main characters played by Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan, arguing about men being able to spot a fake orgasm, prompting Sally to act one out in the restaurant. And then like a flip of a switch, Sally returns to eating.
Plenty other diners saw her orgasmic act, with a customer placing an order and giving one of the film’s iconic lines, "I'll have what she's having."
“When Harry Met Sally” premiered in 1989 and quickly became an American classic romantic-comedy film. It was written by Nora Ephron and directed by Rob Reiner.
The film follows Harry and Sally who first met in Chicago and share a ride to New York City. The friends meet over the course of 12 years and worry about whether their feelings toward each other will ruin their relationship.
Meanwhile, the film's iconic scene turned Katz' Delicatessen, a New York institution serving the heftiest Pastrami and Reuben sandwiches since 1888, into a must-visit tourist with extra long queue times to this day. That Gabbi and Khalil scored the very same table as, well, Harry, and Sally, sure is quite the feat.
The Kapuso couple are currently vacationing in NYC. Before their romcom moment at Katz, Khalil and Gabbi also recreated a photo of Jonathan Larson, the creator of “Rent” and the subject of “Tick, Tick… Boom!”
Previously, Gabbi and Khalil visited the Empire State Building, watched Broadway shows, and tried out lots of food.
