Planning on taking a nature trip? Give car camping a try!
Car camping is one of the outdoor activities currently growing in popularity in the country.
It is an activity where one drives their vehicle to a location and uses it as shelter while camping.
On "Unang Balita," Oscar Oida spoke to Mike Peñaranda, who has been enjoying this recreational activity.
“Personally, naisip ko na kaya kong gawin ‘to, so sinubukan ko, I talked to my wife,” Mike said.
Mike sets up his camp at a spot that gives him the best view of nature.
Car camping allows Mike to experience “a starry night sky tapos, paggising mo kinabukasan, the feeling of waking up at camp, ‘yung medyo may hamog pa ‘yung tent mo.”
Mike has always loved hiking mountains, and now that he has his own family, he made sure to also take them on a nature trip.
“Nung medyo lumuluwag na ‘yung restrictions ng pandemic, naisipan namin na it would be a good way to escape the four corners of our house, mailabas namin ‘yung kids,” he said.
[When the pandemic restrictions loosened up, we thought camping would be a good way to escape the four corners of our house and bring out the kids.]
“Para sa 'min na medyo may edad na, parang it’s a way of rekindling our love for the outdoors,” Mike added.
[For us who are a bit older, it's a way of rekindling our love for the outdoors.]
The number of car campers is continuously growing in the country, as evidenced by the rising number of car campsites being opened across different areas.
