Certified travel goal: Pinay visits 82 Philippine provinces in 7 years

A Filipina has achieved her travel goal of visiting all 82 provinces of the Philippines within seven years.

According to Jun Veneracion’s “24 Oras” report Wednesday, KC Medrano started travelling to the various provinces in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao in 2016 and finished last March 9.

“Iba po talaga yung ganda ng Pilipinas so bago i-appreciate o i-explore yung labas, tingnan po natin yung sariling atin na mapagmamalaking world-class talaga siya,” she said.

KC said places in Mindanao were the ones that really took her breath away.

“Sa Tawi-Tawi, Sulu, more on talagang sa Mindanao,” she said. “Na-stereotype po kasi na delikado po diyan. Mas maganda po actual na makita ang ganda ng lugar.”

Her expenses? It was not easy, KC said, adding that she saved money In order to travel. Her expenses reached half a million pesos. But she has no regrets.

“Yung pera po na nawala, kaya natin i-earn pero yung time, yung memory na na-spend natin during the travel, hindi po kayang bayaran ng pera ‘yon.”

KC’s inspiration is her husband Bernard who achieved the same goal in four years, starting in 2014 and ending in 2017. The couple shared that they are considering bringing their future children to do the same. -- Franchesca Viernes/BAP, GMA Integrated News
