Iloilo City celebrates Dinagyang Festival after two years
The Dinagyang Festival was again celebrated in Iloilo City on Saturday, two years after it was put on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to a report by GMA Regional TV One Western Visayas' John Sala on 24 Oras Weekend, the festival that highlights the devotion to the Sto. Niño features colorful performances during the "Kasadyahan sa Kabanwahanan" cultural contest.
Eight tribes from different areas in the Western Visayas showcase their performances at the Iloilo Freedom Grandstand.
Drums are again set to rumble with the return of the Dinagyang tribes competition on Sunday following the Mass at the San Jose Parish Placer.
Other activities include the religious sadsad or worship dance, the Dinagyang "ILOmination" Competition, and the parade of colorful and lighted floats.
