UP Diliman to reopen Academic Oval to public starting November 15


University of the Philippines Diliman has announced that its Academic Oval will be reopened to the public starting Nov. 15.

On Friday, the UP Diliman Office of the Vice Chancellor for Community Affairs shared on Facebook that the area would be open daily for "joggers or walkers of all ages regardless of vaccination status."

Families or groups of ten people or less will be allowed to use the open spaces along University Avenue, sunken garden, and PAUW.

Visiting bikers, on the other hand, were instructed to use roads University Avenue, Jacinto, Lakandula, Quirino, Ma. Guererro, Laurel Avenue, Balagtas, and Magsaysay Avenue, while Areas 1, 2, and 3 and other residential areas on campus were off-limits.

With the reopening, the university urged its visitors to strictly wear face masks and follow health protocols.

The Academic Oval, located inside the campus, will be open daily from 4 a.m. to 9 a.m. and from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. – Kaela Malig/RC, GMA News
