Siargao named best island in Asia for 2021

Siargao is the best island in Asia this year, according to the 34th Readers' Choice Awards by US-based luxury and lifestyle travel magazine Condé Nast Traveler.

Palawan and Boracay also made this year’s Top 10 list, taking third and eighth place, respectively.

The Condé Nast Traveler’s Top 10 Islands in Asia for 2021 are as follows:

1. Siargao, Philippines
2. Raja Ampat Islands, Indonesia
3. Palawan, Philippines
4. Bali, Indonesia
5. Sri Lanka
6. Langkawi, Malaysia
7. Koh Samui, Thailand
8. Boracay, Philippines
9. Phi Phi Islands, Thailand
10. Phuket, Thailand

Siargao, known as the "Surfing Capital of the Philippines," also takes pride in its pristine beaches, white sand islets and many other natural wonders.

The picturesque island in Mindanao first topped the list in 2018.

Boracay took No. 1 in 2019, followed by Cebu in 2020.

Meanwhile, El Nido Resorts comprised of Lagen island, Apulit island, Pangalusian island, and Miniloc island in Palawan made it to the 9th place for Condé Nast Traveler’s 2021 Top 25 Resorts in Asia list.

Every year for its Readers' Choice Awards, Condé Nast Traveler holds a survey where readers rate the world's best islands, cities, countries, resorts and more.

The list is known as one of the  longest-running and most prestigious recognitions in the travel industry.
