Pia Wurtzbach registers to vote in Abu Dhabi in case she won’t be in PHL on Election Day
Pia Wurtzbach has revealed that she registered to vote in Abu Dhabi in case she wouldn’t be in the Philippines during Election Day on May 9, 2022.
On Friday, the Miss Universe 2015 titleholder shared a photo of herself at the Embassy of the Philippines.
Pia said the last time she went to Abu Dhabi, she realized she might not be in the Philippines during the 2022 national election.
"And I don’t want to miss this coming election,” she wrote on Instagram.
“Since I’ll be flying between Abu Dhabi and Manila more frequently next year, which might be the case on May 9, 2022, I immediately went to the Philippine Embassy last time I was there to register and make sure that I’ll be able to cast my vote even when I’m not in the Philippines,” she said.
“Whether I’ll be working or traveling, this is my PROMISE to myself and my COMMITMENT to my country that I will be able to cast my vote on May 9.”
Pia reminded the public to file their voter registration before the deadline on Sept. 30.
“Let’s all do our part. Kung mahal mo ang Pilipinas, gawin natin ang ating karapatan na bumoto para sa ating bayan,” she said.
