La Union reopens door to local tourists
The local government of La Union resumed all tourism activities on May 22 in a bid to revive its tourism industry shuttered by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Under Executive Order No. 27 issued by Governor Emmanuel Ortega III, only 700 registered tourists from Luzon aged 15 to 65 years old will be allowed to enter the province per day.
Also, tourists are allowed to visit only identified tourism destinations in the province.
Tourists, regardless of place of origin, are required to have negative RT-PCR test results within 72 hours prior to arrival.
Saliva-based RT PCR test result issued by the Philippine Red Cross, with the same period of validity, will also be accepted.
Tourists need to book their visits through accredited travel operators and apply for travel requests through the visitor information and tourist assistance website. —LBG, GMA News
