Fort Santiago, Baluarte de San Diego to reopen its doors to the public

Fort Santiago and Baluarte de San Diego will reopen its doors to the public on Monday.

According to Saleema Refran’s report Sunday, the tourism department set limited number of guests allowed and shortened hours for the tourist spots amid the COVID-19 threat.

Fort Santiago will only be accepting a maximum of 200 visitors from 9am to 6:30pm. Baluarte de San Diego, meanwhile, is open from 8am to 5pm for 100 guests.

Keep in mind that adults aged 18 to 65 years old are the only ones allowed to go and visit.

Minimum health protocols like wearing of face masks and shields should also be followed. There will be a QR code system upon entrance for contract tracing.

The reopening of the tourists sites comes after President Rodrigo Duterte placed the National Capital Region Plus under general community quarantine "with heightened restrictions" until May 31 on Thursday. — Franchesca Viernes/LA, GMA News
