Summer in Samar? Here are 5 destinations you need to see
From its beautiful caves to its pristine beaches and delicious food, Samar might just be your dream summer destination.
On Unang Hirit's "Touristar" segment this Friday, vlogger Bianca Israel gave Kapuso viewers a virtual tour around five enchanting destinations in the "Caving Capital of the Philippines."
The Linao Cave, for example, is where tourists come to see magnificent rock formations and swim in the cool and clear waters of a natural pool.
The Canhugas Nature Park is another totally Instagrammable destination where the waves meet beautiful rock formations on the shore.
You might also want to visit Calicoan Island, also known as the "Surfing Capital of Eastern Visayas."
If it's history you're after, you can visit Homonhon Island where Portuguese explorer Ferdinand Magellan first set foot in the Philippines in 1521.
Tourists can also step inside the Immaculate Conception Church in Guiuan, famous for its breathtaking interior decorated with natural seashells.
Before you go home, make sure to stop by Sulangan to get cool seashell souvenirs and try Samar's delicious local dishes, including their adobo-style Ganga (spider conch).
