5 fun things to do in Nueva Vizcaya this summer

Nueva Vizcaya is known as the Citrus Capital of the Philippines, but did you know it’s also where you can find a beautiful cave, breathtaking waterfalls, and a “sea of clouds?”

In a segment of GMA-7’s “Unang Hirit,” Ilocano vlogger Gayyem Benben gave viewers a fun virtual tour around some of the province’s must-see destinations.

To see the majestic Imugan waterfalls in Santa Fe, you’ll need to go on a lengthy hike, which will become totally worth it once you experience the cool and clear waters from the mountains.

Another natural marvel in Nueva Vizcaya is the Capisaan Cave in Kasibu, which is the fifth longest cave system in the Philippines.

You won’t want to miss the breathtaking “sea of clouds” in Dupax del Norte—there’s a view deck about 1,100 meters above sea level where you can watch the sunrise above the clouds while having a hot cup of coffee.

Benben also visited the Lower Magat Eco Park in Diadi, where visitors can go boating, swimming, camping and other outdoor activities.

Of course, no Nueva Vizcaya tour would be complete without experiencing the province’s amazing local cuisine.

Benben gave viewers a taste of Inabraw, a delicious fish and vegetable dish, as well as the Inandila, which is a tasty tongue-shaped kakanin that’s super perfect for breakfast or a quick merienda.
