Experience paradise on Dampalitan Island in Quezon

Get a glimpse of paradise on Dampalitan Island in Quezon, which is just two to three hours away from Metro Manila.

On Monday’s “Good News” episode, Maey Bautista stayed on Dampalitan Island in Padre Burgos town, where she got to experience its peaceful ambiance and clear waters.

Opened in 2015, the island now serves as an escape for those craving a break from the city’s everyday hustle and bustle.

Aside from getting much-needed leisure time, visitors can also explore other islands, light up a bonfire, and go to the sea to catch their next meal.

Oh and by the way, the sea creatures are best caught at 3 a.m. and can be cooked right from the shore, where guests can see the glimmering ocean once the sun rises.

Entrance fee is PHP100 for a day tour and PHP120 for an overnight stay. Meanwhile, the boat ride from Laguimanoc Port going to the island costs PHP1,200 for six people.

To ensure everyone’s safety, visitors are required to bring their barangay health certificate. – Franchesca Viernes/RC, GMA News
