You can experience Korea from the comfort of your home through this virtual tour
Traveling overseas may still not yet be advisable, but there is a way for you to experience South Korea’s rich tradition and culture even from the comfort of your home!
South Korea’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Tourism Development Institute are launching the virtual “K-Tour Top 10,” where anyone can see and learn about the country’s attractions through real-time online tours guided by local experts.
Consisting of 39 cities, the virtual tour has 10 options based on themes and stories like food, Korean drama, tradition, and nature.
The tour is open for everyone and is available in two sets: one tailored for Korean tourists and one for foreigners abroad.
“The nine virtual English-narrated tours are intended for those unable to visit Korea in person because of the COVID-19 pandemic and will introduce attractive tourist spots and local delicacies,” shared the Korean Cultural Center in the Philippines.
“The detailed itineraries provided will greatly help those who are able to actually travel to Korea after the pandemic.”
Regions included in the English-narrated tours are Suwon, Gangneung, Daegu, Busan, Gyeongju, Jeonju, Mokpo, Gongju/Buyeo and Danyang/Jecheon.
The six Korean-narrated tours, meanwhile, is for those who are already familiar with the places to discover “new charming points.”
Tours included here are the “Daegu Lee Joong-seop Tour,” “Gwangju Yangrim-dong Virtual Tour,” “Today’s Gyeongju” and Gunsan Time Slip Tour.”
Those tailored for children, meanwhile, are the “Gyeongju History Tour” and “Gunsan Modern History Tour.”
Tickets for the English tours are available via Viator and Kkday travel sites for around $10 dollars each until March 20.
