Here's a first look at the new Clark International Airport
The new terminal of the Clark International Airport in Pampanga is getting ready for opening, and based on the photos, it's looking primed to inspire awe and wonder among travellers right upon landing.
Its interiors have taken a cue and inspiration from remarkable tourist spots in Luzon Manila Bay, Mt. Arayat, Mt. Pinatubo, and the serene Sacobia riverbed near it.
Luzon International Premier Airport Development Corp. or (LIPAD) has appointed the international design firm Populous together with Casas + Architects for its interiors, while the structural design is by Budji + Royals.
According to a press statement, the new passenger terminal building is designed for an 8 million passenger-capacity per year with 4 floor levels and 18 aero bridges. The total floor area is 110,000 square meters.
About 1.5 kilometers away from the existing passenger terminal, the new terminal building will be open for both domestic and international flights, with color-coded boarding gates.
LIPAD will be in charge of the airport's operations and management.
