What holiday season is like in Tangub City, the Christmas Symbols Capital of the Philippines

Nestled in the heart of Misamis Occidental is Tangub City, the Christmas Symbols Capital of the Philippines.

What started out as a mayor's way of impressing his wife became a tradition in the city, evolving more and more each year until Tangub became known to have one of the biggest Christmas celebrations in the Philippines.

According to Unang Hirit Touristar Chang Pahayahay, the city chooses a theme for its celebrations every year.

This 2020, the theme is Christmas Village.

As the name suggests, the city is decorated with lit up "houses" that sell products and services for guests. There are tons of food, art, and handmade bags, among others.
