Discover the beauty of Isabela de Basilan in this virtual tour
As quarantine measures ease across several parts of the country, why not plan a trip to Isabela de Basilan?
The city is filled with natural gems like white sand beaches, waterfalls, and forests.
On "Unang Hirit," Touristars Alson Porticos and Sheriff Abdulkarim showed viewers around their home.
The first stop was Lampinigan Island which is known for its gorgeous rock formations and fine white sand.
They also took a boat ride to the Marang-Marang Mangrove Forest, which is ideal for some chill nature-tripping.
And of course, there's no missing the Isabela City Forest Park, dubbed the "Lungs of Isabela City." Here you'd find all kinds of flora and fauna, including the nursery area of endemic tropical wood only found in Basilan.
Another beautiful spot to visit is the Instagram-worthy Cabunbata Falls.
While in Isabela, make sure to witness the creation of the traditional yakan cloth, and the forging of bladed weapons the province is known for.
Also try the Tiyala Itum, a Tausug dish served during special occasions such as birthdays and weddings.
