Experience dreamy Batanes with this virtual tour
How does sprawling fields and clear blue waters sound right now?
You can find these in the northernmost island of the Philippines: Batanes.
And while tourism is currently prohibited in Batanes, you can still virtually enjoy the view with a tour by Mytz Abelador on "Unang Hirit."
Mytz took viewers to Rakuh A Payaman or Marlboro Country, a must-visit attraction in Batan Island, which is one of the three habitable islands there.
The place gives off New Zealand feels, but Mytz said the pastures were just home for cows and carabaos.
Another postcard-worthy view is the Vayang Rolling Hills. It is also apparently the best spot to gaze at the West Philippine Sea.
Mytz also showed off the Naidi Lighthouse, which was opened in 2003. It is 60 feet tall.
She added that Batanes is dubbed "Home of the Winds" because wind comes sweeping in from all directions!
There's more to see in this paradise: there's the House of Dakay, which is made of stone, and Santo Domingo Cathedral, first ever church built there in 1783.
As for the food, a must-try is the Vunong, a traditional Ivatan rice meal, wrapped in kabaya leaves.
Time to add Batanes to your bucket list! —JCB, GMA News
