The Oasis Paco Park Hotel, My Kitchen at the Oasis are closing down
The Oasis Paco Park Hotel and its famous restaurant My Kitchen at the Oasis are closing, due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The unfortunate news was announced on social media Tuesday. "Despite the desire to continue giving high quality and personalised service to our valued guests, it is with a heavy heart that the Oasis Pack Park Hotel and My Kitchen Management has decided to say goodbye," a portion of its statement read.
It cited the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) bringing "the world to a standstill, and tourism has been the worst affected of all major economic sectors" and "the potential long-term changes in behaviours with people likely to become more cautious about travelling in the future" among its reasons for closure.
The Oasis Paco Park Hotel held one of Metro Manila's best-kept secrets: My Kitchen, where Swiss chef Chris Locher served the original, and made popular, the rolled up pizza, which he called the Panizza.
The Oasis Paco Park Hotel and My Kitchen have been serving guests for 10 years. In March, when ECQ was declared, they both also announced temporary closure.
When asked when exactly they are closing their doors, a representative from Oasis Paco Park Hotel told GMA News Online that they will no longer resume operations since ECQ was declared.
Establishments have been closing down as a result of the pandemic. In June, beloved Cubao club Today x Future announced closure. San Juan establishment Moksha did the same. It's really sad to see these little pockets of delicious comfort gone. — LA, GMA New
