Catriona Gray's Madame Tussauds wax figure will be unveiled in 2021 instead

The unveiling of Catriona Gray's Madame Tussauds wax figure has been postponed to 2021, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

On Friday, Catriona's fans from all over the world including those who are from Philippines, Malaysia, USA, Indonesia, Australia, Canada, Thailand, Brunei, Cambodia, Singapore and Mexico had an interview opportunity with the Miss Universe 2018 queen.

During the interview, Cat said her wax figure was supposed to be unveiled around this time, but due to the unfortunate circumstances, it had to be postponed.

Catriona said she is hoping to launch the wax figure in Manila, Philippines and hopefully have the figure travel to Singapore, Thailand, and Hongkong.

"It's insanely detailed they use all these types of equipment. They have this colorist specialist that takes paint and actually matches your skin tone with paint on paper," Catriona narrated.

"They have all these different swatches of hair to get the exact color and tone, even a box of eyeballs that they match to your iris, same with teeth... it's incredibly detailed. I think that's the coolest part about it," she added.

Last May, Filipino fashion designer Mak Tumang showed the "exclusive replica" of Catriona Gray's iconic lava gown which will be worn by her Madame Tussauds wax figure.

Catriona announced that she's having her own Madame Tussauds wax figure displayed in Singapore last January.

Catriona will be the first Filipino to have a wax figure in Madame Tussauds Singapore, while Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach was the first Filipino to have a wax figure in Hong Kong. — Jannielyn Ann Bigtas/LA, GMA News
