Why Gabbi Garcia was chosen as Tourism Ambassador of Taiwan
Kapuso It Girl Gabbi Garcia has achieved another incredible milestone.
The global endorser has just been named Taiwan’s first-ever Filipina Tourism Ambassador, entrusted with the immense task of inspiring more Filipinos to experience the beauty their Asian neighbor has to offer.
We know what you’re thinking: How did Gabbi Garcia, a young Filipino celebrity, land such a position?
According to the Taiwan Tourism Board, Gabbi’s “healthy" and "positive” image in the entertainment industry did not go unnoticed, nor did her excellence as an actress, a singer and an endorser for various brands.
Gabbi has also been exploring dreamy destinations all over the world, and has been sharing her picture-perfect adventures with 5 million followers on Instagram and 4.5 million on Facebook.
Her appointment as Taiwan’s new tourism ambassador was made official during a travel convention in Pasay on Friday, and she received a warm welcome from Taiwan Ambassador in the Philippines Michael Pei Yung Hsu, Taiwan Tourism Bureau Director KL Office Abe Choi Shih Pi, and Press Division of Taipei Economic and Cultural Office Jerry Chuang.
“I want to congratulate our Taiwan Tourism Bureau for having a very attractive, very dynamic and very friendly 2020 Taiwan tourism ambassador,” Ambassador Hsu told the press after the ceremony,
Chuang likewise expressed confidence that the “mutual friendship” between Taiwan and the Philippines is only expected to grow with Gabbi as their ambassador.
Gabbi, in turn, expressed how grateful she was for the recognition, and vowed to do her best in fulfilling her duties.
“(I’m tasked) to promote the country to promote Taiwan and invite Filipinos to visit Taiwan,” she said.
The actress also shared her pleasant experience visiting the country last January, wherein she visited beautiful tourist destinations and even got to spend time with her fans abroad.
“There are a lot of good places to visit. Not just good places, good people, good food, and, ako mismo nag-enjoy ako.” —JST, GMA News
