Travel vlogger Nas Daily praises PHL efforts to promote sustainable travel
Recent Philippine visitor Nas Daily on Friday put out a video praises our efforts to fix and promote sustainable tourism.
In “How This Country Fixed Tourism.” Nas zeroed in on the recent Boracay closure, putting “nature over money.”
He showed how buildings were demolished on the shore line to make way for sand, how diesel trikes were phased out in favor of the eco-friendlier electric trikes, the sewer system that drained the sewage in the island, and the sustaining efforts of banning plastic bottles and putting more trash bins for waste management.
Nas also checked in on El Nido where boats and tourists have been limited to protect corals.
“The Philippines has a long way to go, but they are trying. And we tourists also need to try to take nothing but photographs, leave nothing but footprints and kill nothing but time,” he said.
As of writing, the video has garnered 2.2M views on Facebook, 55K shares, and more than 4,000 comments. — LA, GMA News
