PSA: There are lakes at Mt. Pulag you can go to, in case hiking to the summit intimidates you

Mt. Pulag is Luzon's highest peak and as such, climbing it is a struggle.

As such, authorities have started requiring hikers to undergo medical checkups before clearing them for the perilous climb.

So what happens when you've spent half a day to get to Kabayan, Benguet and you don't pass the cut?

Hike to the Mt. Pulag National Park's Four Lakes in the northern part of the mountain, instead.

As its name suggests, there are four lakes: Lake Tabeyo, Lake Latep-Ngapos, Lake Incolos and Lake Ambulalacao.

According to Drew Allerano, Lake Tabeyo is perfect for a camping experience, with a camping site that is "presko, maganda ang lupa and right beside the lake."

"Pinakamadali at accessible siya na camping site dahil parang nasa likod lang ng bahay ang feels ng camp site," he added.

Since it's also in the middle of a barangay, it's easy to ask for help should you need anything.

Visitors won't get hungry as well since the other side of the road is a field full of vegetation.

A three-minute hike off the main road meanwhile is Lake Ambulalacao, said to be the cleanest, greenest, and most beautiful lake in the Cordillera.

It's a three-time winner of the Cleanest Lake Award by the Gawad Pangulo sa Kapaligaran.
