Inside 'Ant-Man and The Wasp: Nano-Battle', HK Disneyland's thrilling new attraction
Hong Kong Disneyland (HKDL) just opened to the public its newest attraction, Ant-Man and The Wasp: Nano-Battle.
At its launch last Thursday — where none other than Paul Rudd was present —members of the media and a few lucky fans were given the chance to experience HKDL's newest attraction.
Basically, the ride is based on the premise that Iron Man is expanding his Stark Expo in Hong Kong and has invited S.H.I.E.L.D. to set up an exhibit of their latest products which can help the world.
But Hydra visits Hong Kong in an attempt to steal the Arc Reactor in the Stark Tower, and infiltrates S.H.I.E.L.D.'s Science and Technology Pavillion in the Expo via Hydra agent Arnim Zola and his army of swarmbots to steal the data core!
With this, guests of the Pavillion are invited to fight Zola and the swarmbots, alongside Ant-Man and the Wasp, using S.H.I.E.L.D.'s high-tech equipment.
Once inside the S.H.I.E.L.D. Pavillion, guests will see a "control center" where information about the Stark Industries is displayed. There is also a monitor that exposes the main problem: Zola and his army of swarmbots are trying to steal the data core.
The chief engineer of the S.H.I.E.L.D. Pavillion Leslie Lam played by local actress Jessica Hsuan, is the one in charge of giving the guests their equipment, and coordinating with Ant-Man and Wasp.
Guests will be welcomed in a lobby where they will see monitors about the Stark Industries. They will also see a feed of what is happening inside — the story of the ride. #GoAllIn#AntManAndTheWaspNanoBattle#NanoBattle#HKDisneyland pic.twitter.com/iErz6q9F4O

From there, guests who will volunteer will proceed in the Secure Storage Vault where some of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s secret equipment are stored. This will also serve as the briefing room for the guests.

Once inside, guests will board the D/AGR and meet Ant-Man and the Wasp. The ride is pretty interactive and immersive, with guests getting a chance to experience being a hero.

Upon exiting the vehicle bay to help Ant-Man, they will see a huge Mech-crawler with an army of swarmbots. This is where the real action starts.
Guests need to "attack" the weak spots of the swarmbots using their EMP blasters. The EMP blasters have laser point beams which when continuously triggered, will eventually close a "weak spot." Accuracy and the number of weak spots closed will be registered and guests will see it in a monitor in their D/AGR.
As guests head to the "Data Core" part of the ride, they will see a convergence of swarmbots which will form a "Hivebot." It's already huge that Ant-Man recommends to shrink the human beings to fight Zola from inside.
It's pretty thrilling how guests get shrunk, a detail we'll leave off so first-time guests will experience the full surprise.
Swarmbot weak spots and circuit boards will appear to be bigger, and Wasp is also in her normal human size, monitoring how the guests are doing in the battle. A giant fan inside the hivebot has weak spots as well, so guests will feel Zola's heat with the fans.
From the hivebot, the D/AGR will bring the guests in Zola's circuit boards and nerve center for the final part of the battle.
Will the guests defeat Zola? Of course, and Ant-Man and the Wasp will be proud. But, they will need to bring guests back first to "human size," even though Ant-Man will say that guests "look cute inside."
Victory for the new heroes!

Looks like a Laser Tag game? Well, it is sort of. So always check your score, and make sure you have a goal before riding. Do you want to compete with a friend or do you want to get the highest score in the group? You may also feel overwhelmed with finding the weak spots and just closing them, so focus on accuracy as well.
Weak spots are all over the place, especially in the "Hivebot" section, so don't feel like you need to compete with other people. But remember, you are also aboard a moving D/AGR so it is recommended to find weak spots which are near you.
Additional tip: Once you are inside the "nerve center" take a look above and at the sides for more chances of closing weak spots!
The laser tag vibes will make anyone want to take Ant-Man and the Wasp more than once. The first one for your pleasure and enjoyment, the second to get your competitive fix. — LA, GMA News
