How to get the best travel deals in the Travel Sale Fair 2017

The upcoming Travel Sale Fair promises to be a treat for both travel and fashion lovers alike.

Returning for its third year this October 13 to 15, the expo will offer local and international tour packages, made available by over 200 airline, tour operator, and hotel and resort exhibitors.

Guests can take advantage of the buy 1 take 1 promos, and the daily auction of discount vouchers for hotels, resorts, dining coupons, and tours to places like Boracay, Bohol and Enchanted Kingdom.

Fashion and travel lifestyle items will also be on sale under the same roof.

The Travel Sale Fair will be held alongside the popular Trendsetter's Fashion Fair. While the latter is held in a separate building, the P100 entrance fee covers both fairs already.

Here are what guests should keep in mind before heading to the World Trade Center next weekend:

1. Plan your budget and destination/s

Since the event is a travel show and retail shopping event in one, the expo is expected to draw in a large, competitive crowd. This means that strolling from booth to booth and on-the-spot deliberation is inadvisable.

Organizers remind guests to have a planed budget and destination in mind before stepping into the World Trade Center.

"We suggest they have a budget in mind and list the key destinations they want to visit so they can easily rule out exhibitors that could take up time," said Nicole Go-Cedenio, Marketing Director of the Travel Sale Fair.

2. Get your passports ready

Guests should have their passport details on hand to make their bookings successful.

"Bring a photocopy of your passport or simply take a photo of your passport information page so you're ready with the information when you make your bookings," Go-Cedenio said.

For those eyeing international travel, make sure your passports have 6-month validity prior to your travel dates.

3. Bring cash and credit

Guests should be armed with both cash and credit cards — the latter for bookings and big ticket items, and the former for shopping.

"Since this is a travel and retail fair in one, handy gadgets will also be on sale (Apple, JBL, etc.) as well as clothes, shoes and knick-knacks in the fashion hall," Go-Cedenio said.

"Do bring cash to shop with! Your'e definitely bound to leave the place with something in your hand," she added.

What attendees shouldn't bring are bulky items. Go-Cedenio said there are no bag deposits or lockers available at the venue.

4. Divide and conquer

Another important thing to plan ahead of the expo is strategy. With over 200 booths and several thousand expected attendees, it's bound to be tough to grab the promos you want.

Organizers suggest that those who come in a group ask one person to line up at the chosen booth. The rest can navigate whatever else the fair has to offer.

"We suggest only 1 person from your group line up for you guys while the others can go off shopping in the fashion hall or snack out at the food hall," they said.

5. Come hungry

It's not just travel deals and fashion steals that guests can expect at the Travel Sale Fair — there are also heaps of food.

"Do come with an empty stomach since there are a lot of food stalls available out back," Go-Cedenio said.

Food stalls are set up at the back of the venue. Airline booths are usually located at the front of the hall, while travel agencies and theme parks are in the middle section. — LA, GMA News
