‘Night glow’ at Lubao hot-air balloon fest

The giant hot-air balloons went up on the penultimate night of the Lubao International Balloon and Music Festival on Saturday, April 8.

According to GMA News Online contributor Ruston Banal, the weather on Saturday night was perfect for the "night glow"—the showcasing of the balloons as they are inflated by the heat from the propane burners in their baskets.

"For the past previous days, the strong wind current during the evening impeded the inflation of the balloons to avoid the risk of the nylon getting burned because of turbulence. But last night, 15 balloons were showcased," he said.

The festival also features concerts by noted local and international acts. On Saturday night, the performers were Moonstar 88, Yeng Constantino, and Bamboo.

The festival ends on Sunday, April 9. Musical performers on the closing day include BP Valenzuela, Brisom, Dante & Amigo, Marc Naval, the Zombettes, Alex Aiono, Redfoo and the Part Rock Crew — BM, GMA News
