Skateboarding boosts sports tourism in Asingan, Pangasinan
Skateboarding is rising as an attraction in Asingan town in Pangasinan during the hot months.
Youths at the "Summer Skate Jam 2015" showed what they can do with their skateboards, GMA Dagupan's Alfie Tulagan reported on "Primera Balita."

"Kino-conduct namin ito para ma-promote namin itong sports tourism at mga kabataan para mahikayat natin sila sa sports, hindi sa mga vices," said organizer Juncynth Abacco.
At the event, participants maneuver their skateboards on railings, ledges and obstacles, with moves such as the kick flip and board slides.
But Abacco said there should be a balance between sports and safety, adding youths may have to think twice before trying dangerous stunts.
He advised the youths to get tips on basic skills from experts instead of going for the fancy but potentially dangerous stunts.
"Dapat turuan natin ang mga bata para sa ganoon matutunan nila ang basic bago sila mag-attempt ng mahihirap na techniques," he said.
One of the "veterans" is Rodolfo Esteban, who has been joining such activities for three years. He has not let his falls stop him.
"Parang maganda lang sa pakiramdam pag nakabuo ng trick," he said. — Joel Locsin/BM, GMA News
