Ahtisa Manalo's Miss Cosmo gown was inspired by lotus flowers, says designer Mak Tumang

Mak Tumang took to Instagram to share the meaning behind Ahtisa Manalo’s long gown for the Miss Cosmo 2024 Jury Session.

The Filipina beauty queen walked on the pageant stage wearing an elegant bright blue gown, with gold details on the top.

According to Mak, the gown was inspired by a lotus floating on water, “which is often regarded as a symbol of purity, strength, resilience, and rebirth.”

“Lotuses emerge from the muck spotless, return to the murky water every evening, and bloom by daw.,”

The Filipino designed said the gown was created using a "soft and flowy chiffon accentuated with a repousse brass metal."

“On this occasion, I allude to the Occam’s razor principle that 'the simplest solution is almost always the best,'” Mak added.

Despite her sprained ankle, Ahtisa still smoothly strutted the runway at the Miss Cosmo jury session. Later, Ahtisa then walked in a neon yellow bikini for the pageant’s swimsuit portion.

Before the Jury Session, Ahtisa wore a national costume inspired by the iconic Filipino character, Dyesebel.

She won the “First Station” of the People’s Choice voting and also made it to the Top 3 of the “National Pride” stage.

She needs to win the “Big Bang” stage to automatically get a spot in the Top 10 of the pageant.

Fans may vote for Ahtisa through Miss Cosmo’s website.

The Miss Cosmo coronation night is happening on Saturday, October 5.
