Heart Evangelista on her dog Panda wearing her luxury necklace: ‘Anak ko ‘yun eh’

Heart Evangelista has responded to her recent viral post that showed her dog, Panda, wearing a multi-million peso necklace.

In an interview with GMA Integrated News’ Nelson Canlas, the Global Fashion Icon said she just really loves spoiling her fur baby.

“Honestly, I love my dogs. Actually, hindi ko naman ‘yun aso, anak ko ‘yun eh. I wanted to set an example na ang aspin, hindi lang naman ‘yan basta-basta na ginagawang alarm or parang doorbell ng bahay na nakakulong,” Heart said.

[Honestly, I love my dogs. Actually, Panda isn't my dog. Panda is my child. I wanted to set an example that aspins aren't just alarm clocks or doorbells that are locked inside the house.]

“So sinu-spoil ko talaga siya. In fact, ang aking goal talaga is makarating siya sa Paris, pero ang nagsa-stop lang sa ‘kin, ‘yung quarantine.”

[So I spoil Panda. In fact, my goal is to bring Panda to Paris but the quarantine is really stopping me.]

When asked if the post was made to allude to someone, Heart said the necklace has been hers since the pandemic.

“So I honestly don’t see anything. I feel like, more than anything, it should be an inspiration that, you know, you should treat the people around you the same they deserve the best. So, honestly, I don’t really feel like there’s anything that I should do and not do, especially [since I do own the necklace,” she said.

The Sparkle star agreed she doesn’t owe anyone an explanation.

“At the end of the day, you know, kailangan naman din minsan kailangan palaban ka rin. Alam ko na rin kung paano kapag hindi ka masyadong palaban, talagang natatapakan ka, so I bite now in a very sweet way pero masakit,” Heart said.

Heart has long been posting about spoiling Panda with luxury items. In August 2019, the duo turned viral for their matching Hermes blankets. A month later, Heart and Panda turned heads when they arrived at a beauty event, with Heart pushing Panda's stroller, and the dog being kept warm inside with a pink Hermes blanket. Heart has long declared Panda as her daughter.    

Last month, Heart renewed her ties with GMA Network through a ceremonial contract signing event.

Heart said that she hopes to work on a project with an all-star cast.
