Francis Libiran exhibits Team Philippines’ Sinag Barong, posts giveaway through internet challenge

In celebration of Carlos Yulo’s back-to-back gold medal win for the Philippines in artistic gymnastics at the 2024 Paris Olympics, Filipino designer Francis Libiran has mounted exhibits of Sinag Barong, the official outfit of Team Philippines during the games' opening ceremony.

There are two exhibits for the Sinag Barong, which are available for viewing until Aug. 12.

Styled and curated by Dave Sandoval, the Shangri-La Mall exhibit is located at the East Atrium of Shangri-La Plaza. Meanwhile, the Mall of Asia exhibit, styled and curated by Michael Ruis, is on level 2 of MOA’s main mall.

To add more fun to the celebration of Pinoy Pride, Francis also announced a giveaway of Sinag Barong through video entries on social media.

For those who want to join, you must visit any Sinag Barong exhibits and create your own creative Instagram Reel collaboration post with Francis’s account.

The video entry post with the most likes by Aug. 31 will get their own Sinag Barong. The winner will be announced on Sept. 1 through the designer’s official Instagram account.

As of writing, Team Philippines has won three Olympic medals. Carlos Yulo received two gold medals in floor and vault exercises, while Aira Villegas bagged one bronze medal in women's boxing.

Nesthy Petecio, who is set to compete on Thursday morning, is also already assured of at least a bronze medal.
