Heart Evangelista arrives at SONA 2024 in backless modern Filipiniana

Heart Evangelista made quite the entrance at President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.'s third State of the Nation Address (SONA) at the Batasang Pambansa Complex in Quezon City on Monday.

The actress and new Senate Spouses Foundation Inc. (SPFI) president arrived in a backless modern Filipiniana by Michael Leyva.

The front of the white dress has a sash, which turns into a train in the back, creating a soft silhouette. Heart also had on elegant white and silver jewelry, and carried a white purse.

Heart walked the red carpet with her husband, Senate President Chiz Escudero, his twins Chesi and Quino as well as Heart's sister, Cam Ongpauco. 

At the Senate opening session earlier this morning, Heart was present, also in a white Michael Leyva creation.  

President Marcos is set to deliver his third SONA, scheduled for 4 p.m. Politicians and their guests from across the Philippines are set to attend the event.

Some of the current pressing issues in the country include the rising conflict in the West Philippine Sea against global superpower China, which has prompted Manila to lodge diplomatic protests against Beijing, and officials from both countries to hold a bilateral meeting to manage the ongoing disputes in the region.
